Fort Myers, FL asked in Landlord - Tenant for Florida

Q: If I have asked to renew my lease in October and I have not received a response, what can I do to avoid getting evicted?

I have asked to about renewing my lease in October. My current lease expires 01/31/22 I have all email communication with the property manager as I have asked repeatedly for a answer so that I can also prepare my living situation. The manager and I have not seen eye to eye on certain things regarding the property, as I feel she is not providing me enough time to move or allow us to renew the lease. I feel discriminated and that she is being vindictive towards me regarding the past issues we've had. Rent is paid on time and no current violations with our current lease have occurred. I would like to be prepared with legal documents as I feel they will be needed in the case.

A: Your landlord is under no obligation to renew your lease, nor tell you they are not going to renew it.

And since they haven't been responsive to your repeated requests about renewal it appears they are not going to,

Finally. since today is only November 10. you have 62 days from today to find new digs.

I am NOT telling you to get ready to leave; nor am I telling you to stop asking about a new lease.

All I am doing is telling you that moving might be in your future, so don't ignore that possibility .
