A: A Florida attorney could advise best, but your question remains open for three weeks. A basic doctrine of contract law that holds true nationwide is that the terms of a valid contract agreed upon by both sides will apply. But that is a general textbook principle. A Florida attorney who reviewed the actual terms of your contract would be able to offer more meaningful guidance. You mention putting off the surgery to a later date - contracts will sometimes address such contingencies, among others. Contracts could involve state-specific elements of law. That's why a Florida attorney who looked at the terms of the contract with you could advise better than is possible in a brief, general response here. Good luck
