Gilbert, AZ asked in Personal Injury for Arizona

Q: Do I have personal injury claim for pain & suffering caused by my doctor failing to help me when requested?

I am a 71-year-old man who has been certified by the Federal Government as Totally and Permanently Disabled. Sun Life Family Health Center, Inc. in Casa Grande, AZ (SLFHC) was my Primary Care Physician for over 6 years, and I was already permanently disabled before I came to SLFHC. Because I live alone, and have no friends or relatives in Arizona, I was completely reliant upon SLFHC to assist me with my medical issues, which were frequently exacerbated by the acts or omissions of SLFHC.

SLFHC has often failed in their affirmative duty to provide medical care to me when called upon to do so by myself or my pharmacist. SLFHC personnel were fully informed of my advanced age and infirmity. Accordingly, they knew, or should have known, that I was a permanently disabled senior who continually relied upon them for medical assistance, and would be significantly harmed by any failure to help me when asked.

A: An Arizona attorney could advise best, but your question remains open for a week. If you believe you suffered damages resulting from breach of a duty to provide you with proper medical care, you could reach out to med mal attorneys in Arizona. Most law firms that handle med mal cases offer free initial consults. As far as the things you describe in terms of acts or omissions, a law firm could retrieve your records and review them with a medical professional if they felt you had the grounds for a case. Good luck
