A: I believe New York State's Department of Education licenses nurses. Check your licensure status, make sure you have complied with all continuing education requirements and reporting if there are any incidents which require your disclosure or reporting to the licensure Board.

Review any employment agreements or contracts which apply to you. If your name is associated with any certifications, grants, contracts make sure you comply with any duties contractual or otherwise which you may have.

And if you were witness to or involved in any acts or actions which public safety implications or potential harm to public safety make sure you correct those or take appropriate action.

And finally, call employment lawyers and confidentially fully disclose any concerns you may smartly not have posted on-line. You have a career. Employment lawyers try to help you keep it but only if you ask for help before it's too late.

Quitting is usually the last resort so consulting with competent employment lawyers should be your first step. Then you can make an informed choice about how to proceed. This is not legal advice but simply suggestions for what reads like a potentially serious matter.
