Hickman, KY asked in Family Law and Child Custody for Kentucky

Q: how to speed up the prcocess of lawyer withdraw so i can speak to other party attorney?

my lawyer and i have parted ways as of yesterday. she wanted to wait three weeks to sit down with the other party, i did not as i have not seen my children in 4 weeks. it has driven me crazy almost as if I'm withdrawing from an addiction.i have had them since birth roughly 75-80 percent, as of october i have had them 95% of the time until last month. i filed an epo on her for assaulting me she ran off with kids. i signed the birth certificate and acknowledgement of paternity. i am the legal father, they have resided at my residence with me since december 25 2019. my children being taken from me cold turkey without a single word about them since caused me to make irrational stupid decisions. i tried to speak to the other party and attorney, that was the wrong thing to do and completely understand her decision. ex- counsel says will be the 16 days before anything in writing is received, is it possible to speed this up to speak to the mothers lawyer

A: Depends on what county the case is in….but most likely no one will speak with you until the order is entered.
