Lima, OH asked in Family Law and Child Custody for Ohio

Q: I'm currently in great fear for my child's life. Her father yelled out in court she is suicidal, please help!

My child has been kept from me bye her father after wrongfully receiving custody when he made a false allegation against my son of sexual abuse against my daughter . It was unsubstantiated and hospital found absolutely NO evidence,Long story, now he was found in contempt for keeping her from me he was court ordered to do visitation an therapy but hasn't followed the order,I refiled contempt (its set for july) on him.We had court yesterday infront of a judge for child support, during that hearing he yelled out my daughter is suicidal,He then went into a array of things gas lighting the Judge so the Suicide comment i think went over her head. My question is, is there something I can file sooner,he is not getting her the help she needs, she is being kept from me she is 15,Suicide runs in my family.I asked the police to do a wellcheck, they went but she said she was fine and he wouldn't allow them to speak to her alone.I told them she is incapable of making her own decisions&need assessment

A: Parents can file a Motion for the court to appoint a Guardian Ad Litem to request a full investigation by a neutral third party concerning the child during an Ohio Child Custody case. If the parents cannot afford the cost of the Guardian Ad Litem or are indigent they can request the court to approve reduced fees or no fees to cover the cost. A Guardian Ad Litem has access to a child's school records, medical records any other relevant records. Another option in child custody cases is to file a Motion for an In Camera Interview of the child to request the court to speak with the child outside the presence of the parents.
