Q: If you get caught with illegal immigrants in the USA/California can you get criminal charged

so I live in Southern California & unfortunately I started to pick up illegal immigrants but in El Centro California was were I will aways get them from they would cross the border themselves and as soon as they stepped onto United States grounds is when I would pick them up and take them towards Los Angeles I've been caught 5 different times already by border patrol once I had 20 of them I certainly thought I was not getting out that time but I did and all the other times they to they take us all in and they always keep me all night and by morning I'm free no charges or anything they always scare me and tell me that they're doing me a favor by letting me go and they tell me that if they wanted to I could be chargefor a long time in prison and they try to scare me into telling them whatever it is they want to know but what I would like to know truthfully did I even break the law because I'm sure if there was a way that they could have kept me I'm sure they would have but they don't a
