Q: IN THE STATE OF MARYLAND IS 2ND DEGREE ESCAPE CONSIDERED A MISDEMEANOR OR FELONY
THIS WASNT A PHYSICAL ESCAPE, I WAS TO REPORT TO THE DENTION CENTER FOR NON PAYMENT OF CHILD SUPPORT OR FULLFILL A WORK SEARCH REQUIRMENT OR PAY 500 DOLLARS I THOUGHT I HAD FULLFILLED THE WORK SEARCH REQUIREMENT AND EVIDENTLY I DIDNT SO A ESCAPE CHARGE WAS FILLED AGAINST ME AND AFTER PAYING CHILD SUPPORT FIVE YEARS AFTER NOT KNOWING I HAD A WARRANT UNTIL THE STATE HAD A STATE WIDE SWEEP OF ACTIVE LONG TERM WARRANTS THEY CAME A KNOCKING 5AM IN THE MORNING
A: Misdemeanor. Maximum penalty is 3 years and $5,000. Hire a lawyer.
