A: Sorry to hear about your problem.

If you have a court date set for your eviction, you need to act fast. If it is within the next few days, you can ask the judge to re-fix the court date, but they will only give you a week or two. There are some legal aid socities that help people who can not afford an attorney. When you appear at the court date, go early. That way you can look into getting leagl aid help.

If you can afford an attorney, you should see one ASAP. Evictions are very technical summary lawsuits. That means that the eviction court rules are strict, and the Landlord MUST comply wioth all the laws and rules or they will lose in court. Either way, act fast so you do not get a judgment against you.

Also, if you do go to court and lose, you should appeal the decision. That would be for an experienced attorney to handle. Good Luck!
