A: Medical expenses that were incurred by a person who later was deceased, can only be recovered Through the creditor filing a lawsuit against the decedents estate. So if your daughters estate has assets, then The creditor can attach those assets to pay for his judgment. So directly, you are not responsible. However indirectly you are if you were the beneficiary of your child’s estate, and there were four would recover under her estate less if a claim it would have to be satisfied from those assets.
