A: It is unclear exactly what occurred here or what charges have been brought against you. With that said, Walmart must have made a complaint to a law enforcement agency regarding something they have alleged that you did. Walmart is not able to prosecute criminal cases or to decide whether to prosecute or not. It is the prosecuting agency (likely the District Attorney) that would have to decide whether to bring/file a charge against you. Walmart is likely listed as the complaining witness but was not under any obligation to tell you they made a complaint to law enforcement and under no obligation to keep the matter secret from others.

It is important for you to contact a criminal defense attorney immediately. Also, I am going to suggest you refrain from discussing any details about your case with others or on a public forum. The details of your case are something you need to discuss privately with your attorney. There is a time and place to contest allegations that Walmart is making, but seek and utilize the assistance of an attorney to ensure that your rights are protected and to ensure that you don't do or say something that could harm your defense in court.
