A: Ordinarily, self storage insurance does cover the theft of your property from your self storage unit up to the limits stated in your policy. The covered value for jewelry typically can be increased for an additional premium if you were storing valuable jewelry in your unit. You should carefully read the terms of your policy to determine any limits on your coverage. If you cannot understand the terms, you should consult an attorney.
