Phoenix, AZ asked in Car Accidents for Arizona

Q: Can I submit an insurance claim to my insurance company to cover his out-of-pocket deductible amount since I was driving

I was borrowing a friend's car when another vehicle rear-ended me and then took off. I filed a hit-and-run police report and my friend submitted a claim under his insurance company. The repairs are being completed but he has a $500 deductible that he is responsible for paying. Can I submit an insurance claim to my insurance company to cover his out-of-pocket deductible amount since I was driving his car at the time?

A: An Arizona attorney could advise best, but your question remains open for two weeks. You could check with the terms of your policy. However, insurance generally follows the owner's vehicle, not vehicles of others. But each individual policy could have its own specific provisions (for example, rentals). Good luck
