Dallas, TX asked in Family Law for Texas

Q: Will a closed cps case come back on a background check if you want to be a public school teacher in Texas?

So when i was 21 i was in an abusive relationship where he got me involved in drugs. I got pregnant at 23 years old and did not find out until i was 5.5 months along. I did get off it soon after finding out. However his first poop they test and came back positive for heroin. Even though its only up until i think 13 weeks that its from. I did NOT test positive when in labor or the hospital. Cps opened the case and within two weeks it was closed. I signed my son over to my mother with the intention to help her raise him with permission of the state. he is the absolute light of my life. Im sober, have been for years now, and i'm in school right now to get my BA in psychology. I want to teach in public school preferably high school. But i just don't know if I'll be allowed to? There were no criminal charges, I've never had any charges against me. This is the only thing that would bar me from teaching. It will be 2026 before i graduate which will be 10 years since the closure ofmycase

A: Depending on the final conclusion if CPS you may be able to seal the case
