Brodhead, KY asked in Child Custody and Family Law for Kentucky

Q: Could my ex lose custody if they refuse to take our child to the doctor when sick or buy them medicine.

My ex and I have joint custody over our child, and recently my ex has said that while our child is in their custody they will not buy medicine for our child when they are sick, nor take them to the doctor when sick. Would this be considered medical neglect and would I be able to get sole custody or more because of it.

A: Yes, she could. But it is also likely you will be awarded the sole power to make healthcare decisions for your child.
