My Co-worker & neighbors have been feeding 3 stray cats. The Church in the neighborhood is the only one that has a problem with it. They took the bowls and shelter we built for was in a public parking lot. The Church said they called Animal Control and they said it's illegal. Is it? In Oakdale Ca.

A: It is not illegal to feed feral or stray cats in Oakdale, California. However, it is important to note that feral and stray cats are not considered pets and are not protected by animal cruelty laws. Therefore, it is important to ensure that the cats are not causing a nuisance or a health hazard to the community. It is also recommended to work with local animal control or animal welfare organizations to address the needs of feral and stray cats in the area.
