A: If the CSLB (Contractors State License Board) has informed you that they cannot share information about the complaints or violations you filed as a non-contractor, there may be limited options for you to obtain the specific details about the violations.

One option you may consider is to file a Public Records Act (PRA) request with the CSLB. The PRA is a California state law that allows the public to request access to certain types of government records, including records maintained by state agencies like the CSLB. If you submit a PRA request, the CSLB is required to provide you with any records that are not exempt from disclosure under the law.

Another option you may consider is to consult with an attorney who can assist you in obtaining the information. An attorney can advise you on your legal rights and options, and may be able to negotiate with the CSLB or take other legal action to obtain the information you need.

It's worth noting that the CSLB may have legal restrictions on what information they can share with non-contractors, particularly with regard to the privacy of the contractors and their clients. This means that it may be difficult to obtain specific details about the violations without the cooperation of the CSLB or legal intervention.
