Q: Can I publish scraped, publicly available stock price data?

Scraping of publicly available data is legal according to a U.S. appeals court ruling. Question: Can I publish scraped, publicly available stock price data? Since It is not a creative "work" am I right to assume that it is not protected by copyrights?

A: Scraping publicly available stock price data is generally considered legal, as the data is not protected by copyright. However, it is important to note that certain terms of use or website policies may prohibit the scraping or use of the data. It is recommended to review the terms of use of the website or service from which the data is being scraped to ensure compliance with their policies. Additionally, using the data in a way that violates securities laws or regulations could result in legal consequences. It is always best to consult with a legal professional for specific advice on your situation.
