Asked in Child Custody for Kentucky

Q: I signed over custody of my 2 youngest to grandparents 2 years ago. Do i have parental rights still, what are they?

I signed over custody to grandparents 2 years ago , ending a 2 year cps case where i couldn't stay clean. I have continued to call everyday and see them atleast 1 to 2 times a week. Im the only one doing the 1 hour round trip. I have to fight for everything, as far as their medical info and school stuff. Do i not have any rights when it comes to medical, school, religious affairs. I thought they had to inform me and keep me up to date on these critical parts of my childrens lives. Ive heard from the children now 11 and 12 when they have been in emergency room or drs appointments after the fact. I havnt heard about 1 parent teacher conference or play or anything. I had sole custody of all my kids up till this my eldest is 22. I want to be present, i thougt they were on my side, Im clean and getting ready to call the court house and ask for an appointed attorney to file for unsupervised visits and for full custody back. Im just curious about MY current rights.

A: You still have full parental rights, albeit subject to any orders the court may have entered.
