A: Insurance doctors may be involved on some types of cases (no-fault or workers' comp). For general injuries such as slip and fall cases, the claimant may use their regular insurance and health care providers within that network. Keep in mind that at the conclusion of a case, the insurance carriers, whether private insurance or public health agencies, can usually assert a lien against any awards. Good luck

A: Your question is unclear. Oftentimes, personal injury attorneys will arrange to have their clients evaluated by a physician for an "independent" evaluation, separate and apart from an evaluation for purposes of treatment. Likewise, in a personal injury lawsuit, the defendant is entitled to have the plaintiff examined by one or more physicians of their choice, again for an "independent" evaluation. If the person who fell in the restaurant has not yet received any treatment for her injury, then it would be in her best interest to make an appointment with a physician (who accepts her insurance) and establish a course of treatment so that she can receive the medical care she needs.
