A: It could depend on the municipality. But if there are no liens or other loose ends that need to be resolved, it could be as promptly as a week or two after they receive your signed released. If there are liens, such as those from public health agencies that paid for medical services, that could delay the process. Good luck

A: Under New York's Civil Practice Law & Rules (CPLR § 5003-a(b)), municipalities have ninety (90) days from the date of tender in which to pay a settlement. The date of tender is the date it receives the settlement papers, i.e. general release, stipulation of discontinuance, final lien letter.
