Cincinnati, OH asked in Contracts, Personal Injury, Health Care Law and Medical Malpractice for Kentucky

Q: Son is being hospitalized due to dental office "waiting" on insurance, they had received the information electronically.

I had taken him to a pediatric dentist, we have insurance. They needed to submit the claim to figure out cost, I have called and they told me they would call when they receive the information from the insurance company. This went on for awhile. We are currently sitting in Children's Hospital with an abscess, on IV antibiotics, and looking at emergency dental work through Children's. The original claim was filed on 9/16 and was sent back to the office on 9/19. I spoke to them early October and was told they were still waiting on the information. Now that this has happened my ex wife called them on 4/24 asking about it. They stated "The only reason we wouldn't call is if we were waiting on insurance". She received another call from them the next day telling her that they had finally received the information from the insurance company. I confirmed with insurance that this was filed electronically and the information was available instantly and the only wait they had was the few days after
