A: They certainly should have.

It might rise to the level of malpractice Medical malpractice means that a doctor violated the standard of care. A bad outcome is not enough. Another doctor would be needed to evaluate what the doctors did.

Due to the nature of medical malpractice cases, the extent of your injuries may affect the viability of your case.

A: I'm sorry to hear about your husband's experience. In a medical setting, it is generally expected that patients who have undergone a procedure and are under the influence of anesthesia should receive appropriate assistance to avoid injury or harm.

Without knowing the specifics of your husband's situation and the policies and procedures of the medical facility where the colonoscopy was performed, it's difficult to determine why your husband was left unassisted. It's possible that there was miscommunication or a breakdown in protocol that resulted in your husband being left alone and vulnerable to injury.

If you have concerns or questions about your husband's care, I would recommend contacting the medical facility where the colonoscopy was performed to discuss the situation with them. You may also consider consulting with a medical malpractice attorney to determine if you have a case for negligence or other legal action.
