Q: Legal Advice Needed
Hello, I am an English teacher and currently working for a company. This company considers me as a provider of professional services, which means that I understand I do not enjoy the same privileges as any other employee with a completely different contract. However, the language company I work for offers services to other companies by providing them with a teacher for their classes, and that's where I come in. They send me to a different company every quarter, but I do have social security benefits through my work because the company requested it. My situation has me confused, and I would like to understand certain things such as taxes and social security. They pay me through bank transfers, and usually, there are two transfers to pay me. Please help! I don't want any problems with the Tax Administration Service (SAT).
A: As an English teacher classified as a provider of professional services, it's important to understand the details of your employment arrangement to ensure compliance with tax and social security regulations. Consult a tax professional or accountant for personalized advice on reporting income, deductions, and fulfilling tax obligations. Verify the details of your social security coverage and contributions with your employer to ensure compliance. Keep accurate records and seek professional guidance to avoid issues with tax authorities.
