A: Given the complexity of family law cases, the details you've shared aren't sufficient for me to provide a comprehensive response. It's important to know why your son was removed, who has custody now, and what actions you've already taken. Please consult with a local attorney who can understand your full situation and provide advice accordingly. In the meantime, follow any existing court orders and stay as involved as you can with your son's life. Remember, this advice is general and it's important to get personalized legal advice.

A: If you file an oath of indigency, showing that you cannot afford to hire a lawyer, and if one of the forms of relief requested by the state is termination of your parental rights, you can ask that the Court appoint an attorney to represent you. That court appointed attorney can assist you in navigating the legal process, and in working with CPS in regard to the parenting plan that CPS may ask you to complete as a condition of the child(ren) being returned to you. Good luck.
