A: It's generally advisable to retain important immigration documents indefinitely, even after gaining U.S. citizenship. These documents may be needed for various purposes in the future, such as proving your immigration history, eligibility for certain benefits, or sponsoring family members. It's essential to consult with an attorney to determine which documents can be safely disposed of and which should be retained for future reference.
