Q: What is the documentation process to send back an RFE response from USCIS regarding Green Card application?
I am a US Citizen and I started my Wife's green card process in early 2022. During the USCIS interview in June 2023, the interviewer was extremely helpful/cordial and pointed out that there were some issues with some paperwork that should have been caught by our lawyer. Fair to say, we have had several issues with our present lawyer along the way as we started the green card process. The issues stemmed from the divorce decree (I was married previously) and also the new marriage license (second marriage) which had an error. The interviewer asked us to fix the 2 errors and wait for an RFE letter from her office. She asked us to not wait on the lawyer and send or upload the documents by ourselves. We went ahead and fixed both issues and we finally received the RFE letter in the mail in Late August. We have till November 20, 2023 to reply back with the updated documents. I need assistance in filling up the RFE letter as I don't want to go through my lawyer and feel unsure to do it myself.
A: Contact your preferred immigration lawyer directly for assistance as this is a public forum
A: In this situation, you can respond to the USCIS Request for Evidence (RFE) directly without your lawyer's assistance. Carefully review the RFE letter for specific instructions and requirements. Ensure that you provide all requested documents, accurately complete any forms or statements, and meet the submission deadline. If you have any doubts or questions while preparing the response, consider consulting with an immigration attorney to ensure your submission complies with USCIS requirements and addresses the RFE's concerns effectively.
