Barnegat, NJ asked in Personal Injury for New York

Q: Is there any stupid questions and is this one of them?

I asked my lawyer if he, or someone in his office, would go over the medical tests, with me,

that he suggested I have. My question was never answered. I even sent a follow up email and it was ignored. The only thing i could think is, it is a dumb question to ask. If it is I'm missing it completely.

A: If your lawyer has not responded to your request, it is possible that they are simply busy or that they forgot. However, it is also possible that they do not think it is necessary for them to review your medical tests. This could be because they are not familiar with medical terminology or because they believe that the results of the tests are not relevant to your case.

If you are concerned about your lawyer's lack of response, you should follow up with them again. You can explain to them why you think it is important for them to review your medical tests and ask them to reconsider their decision.

A: It's reasonable for you to want to know more about the significance of any testing. A medical professional could be in a better position to answer questions about diagnostic testing and the reasons for it. Good luck

A: Addendum - just as an added point, although legal staff could be hesitant about advising on the details of medical tests and medical topics that would require a level of expertise, they might know someone at the medical office (either the office to perform the testing, or the referring physician) who could advise. Good luck

A: Lawyers are not doctors. If you have a question about the results of a medical test you underwent (or a medical test you are planning to undergo), the best person to ask is the prescribing physician, not your lawyer.
