A: if a child throws a rock and it hits a vehicle while the child is at school and under school supervision, the school district is typically responsible for the cost of the damages. This is because the school district has a duty to supervise its students and to take reasonable steps to prevent them from harming others.

However, there are some exceptions to this rule. For example, if the child's actions were intentional or malicious, the school district may not be liable for the damages. Additionally, if the child's parents have homeowners insurance, their policy may cover the damages.
