It was stolen and the company office here shut down what's happening to my dividends?

A: The John Hancock Life Insurance Company is still in business. It seems likely that it was just your local agent's office that closed. You should contact the company directly to secure another copy of your policy. You can check your account online to insure that your dividends, if any, are being properly credited, or wait for your quarterly statement.

A physical copy of an insurance policy is simply a piece of paper that does not entitle a thief to receive anything from the company. But you should notify the company that a physical copy of your policy has been stolen.
