A: In the absence of a court order, a grandparent does not have the legal right to prevent a parent with full custody from talking to or seeing a child. If the grandparent is wrongfully detaining the child, you can file an application for writ of habeas corpus requiring the parent to produce the child in court and show legal cause for keeping the child from you. This should be filed in the court that granted you full custody and should cite that's court's order awarding you exclusive possession of the child.
