Lorain, OH asked in Medical Malpractice for Ohio

Q: Instead of asking surgeon, physical therapist googled my rehab recovery and admitted to me to not reading my full file.

I had root meniscal surgery on my left knee. My original PT had to leave after a few weeks. New PT took over and instead of asking surgeon when I could return to running, he googled it and found another hospitals protocol and use that on me. Now my knee is totally messed up again and he admitted to me that he never read my full file. I believe the surgeon purposely did not put it in my file because he wanted to see me before he started me running again. My PT never checked with the surgeon. What do I do?

A: This is a potential medical malpractice case worth exploring. You should consult with medical malpractice attorneys in your state. The attorneys will want to know the nature and extent of the harm caused by the therapist.

A: An attorney would want to review the file before offering definitive direction. One option is to try to arrange a free initial legal consult - most law firms that handle such cases offer that courtesy. Good luck
