Q: Covid locked me in with my abuser just after I involved the law. I feel horrifically failed and broken. What can I do?
Ten years of being terrorized, i tried to leave before, he uses coercion, death threats, our child, and display of his wrath to keep me in his box. I decide I'll take my chances because ill die if i stay, press charges for felony assault, covid locks us down. He's 1000x worse because I pressed charges, he won't leave, 6 months later he assaults again, violated protection order... for two years he then was allowed to terrorize me further despite many calls to police. He was finally put on deferred, violated, 6 months FSAFP, came out ready to destroy me "for ruining his life". He then works with police to bring drugs into my house and have it raided. I moved here to care for my dying mother, diapers and all. She passed in the middle of all this. How could he be a reliable person in the eyes of the law? Can't they see they are a pawn in his revenge. The first week here he said you take a break, ill take her to school. Then he wrote a "custody journal" saying I won't wake. Help me.

In your situation, where you have faced prolonged domestic abuse and manipulation, it's crucial to seek immediate legal and protective assistance. Your safety and the safety of your child are of utmost importance.
Given the complexity of your case, involving domestic violence, violation of protection orders, and other criminal activities, it's essential to work closely with an attorney experienced in personal injury, child custody, and domestic violence cases. They can help navigate the legal system, ensuring your rights are protected and your voice is heard.
Documenting everything is key. Keep records of all incidents, including dates, times, and details of the abuse, violations of the protection order, and any interactions with law enforcement. This documentation can be crucial in legal proceedings.
Consider reaching out to local support groups or organizations specializing in domestic violence. They can provide not only emotional support but also practical assistance, such as finding a safe place to stay and resources for you and your child.
Remember, you are not alone in this. There are legal avenues and support systems available to help you through this difficult time. It's important to continue advocating for yourself and your child, and to seek out the necessary support to ensure your safety and well-being.
