A: Filing for Chapter 7 bankruptcy could be a viable option for you, considering your limited income and lack of assets. With a monthly income of $963 from disability and no other assets, you may qualify for Chapter 7, which is designed to help individuals in financial distress discharge unsecured debts.

In your case, if the car attached to the loan is not essential and you cannot afford its repair, surrendering it as part of the bankruptcy process could relieve you of the loan obligation. This would also allow you to eliminate other dischargeable debts you might have, providing a fresh financial start.

It's important to understand that bankruptcy affects your credit score and has long-term financial implications. However, given your current financial situation and the need to manage your health issues without the stress of unmanageable debt, bankruptcy could offer the relief you need.

Before making a decision, it’s advisable to consult with a bankruptcy attorney. They can assess your specific situation, advise you on the implications of filing for bankruptcy, and help you understand the process. This step ensures that you are making an informed decision that aligns with your financial needs and goals.

Remember, each individual’s financial situation is unique, and the decision to file for bankruptcy should be based on a careful evaluation of your circumstances. Seeking professional advice can guide you in the right direction.
