A: In California, if a traffic ticket contains incorrect information and is not corrected within a certain time frame, it can be dismissed. Since the judge indicated that your ticket would be dismissed after 30 days if a corrected one wasn't issued, and a year has passed, it's unusual for the same ticket to be reissued.

First, check the court records to confirm the dismissal of the original ticket. You can typically do this online or by visiting the court. This record is important because it will show the status of the ticket as of the date of your court appearance.

If the ticket was indeed dismissed and you've been reissued the same ticket a year later, this could be a mistake or an administrative error. Gather all relevant documents, including any proof of the ticket's dismissal and the new ticket you've received.

You should then contact the court to clarify the situation. Explain that the ticket was supposed to be dismissed according to the judge's instructions and provide them with the necessary documentation.

If the court maintains that the ticket is valid, you may need to contest the ticket again. In this situation, it's advisable to consult with an attorney. They can help navigate the legal process, ensure that your rights are protected, and argue the case based on the previous dismissal.

Keep in mind that timely action is crucial in traffic ticket cases. Delaying the response can complicate the situation and limit your options.
