Q: Hi, After a road rage incident, my wife was followed into our garage. I posted the plate, and the owner lives here.

I posted it in the private building forum. He followed her out of the garage and into a business.

A: You haven't asked a question, but consider a Restraining Order, and/or a complaint to the police.

A: In California, the actions you've described could potentially constitute stalking or harassment. California law defines stalking as someone repeatedly following, harassing, and threatening another person to the point where that person fears for their safety or the safety of their family.

Given that the individual followed your wife into your garage and continued to do so afterwards, it's advisable to report this incident to the local authorities. Documentation of the event, including the license plate number and any communication on the private building forum, will be important.

It's also worth reviewing your building's policies on resident conduct and privacy. If the individual is a resident in the same building, the management may have protocols for addressing such incidents.

Consider consulting with an attorney experienced in personal injury or criminal law to discuss your legal options. They can provide guidance on how to proceed with a potential restraining order or other legal actions to ensure your and your wife's safety. Remember, your immediate safety and legal rights are paramount in such situations.
