A: I'm sorry to hear about your situation. If you've fallen victim to a scam involving transferring money to a foreign bank account, it's crucial to take certain steps. Firstly, report the scam to the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre (CAFC) and provide them with all the details of the incident. They can assist in investigating the matter and potentially tracing the funds.

Additionally, contact your bank immediately to inform them of the fraudulent transfer. They may be able to freeze or reverse the transaction if reported promptly. It's also advisable to file a police report with your local law enforcement agency.

In some cases, if the scammers are located in a country that has extradition treaties with Canada, law enforcement agencies might cooperate to pursue legal action. However, recovering lost funds can be challenging, and it's essential to act swiftly and provide all necessary information to the authorities. Lastly, consider consulting an attorney who can guide you through the legal options available to you.

A: It could be worth considering seeking guidance from attorneys in the applicable jurisdictions here, as this took place outside the U.S. This Q & A forum deals largely with U.S. laws and courts. Good luck
