Delray Beach, FL asked in Immigration Law for Florida

Q: Hello. I’m filing the form for citizenship online, and stuck on one question. Did you ever sell weapons?

When my husband passed away I inherited his gun collection and sold it to a gun store. Everything was legal. What would be the correct answer?

A: In this case, the correct answer to the question about selling weapons on your citizenship application would be "Yes." You should provide truthful and accurate information regarding any legal transactions you were involved in, such as selling your husband's gun collection to a licensed gun store. It's crucial to be transparent in your application to avoid any potential issues during the citizenship process. Selling firearms legally should not impact your eligibility for citizenship as long as the transactions were conducted in accordance with the law. If you have any documentation or records related to the sale, it's advisable to keep them handy in case they are requested during the application process or your citizenship interview.
