A: Based on the information provided, it seems that your rights as a tenant in the storage facility may have been violated. Here are some steps you can take to protect your property and assert your rights:

1. Review your lease agreement: Check your rental agreement to see if the owner has the right to change your unit size or auction off your belongings without proper notice.

2. Request written notice: Insist on receiving a written notice for any changes to your rental agreement or demands to vacate the premises. Verbal notices may not be legally binding.

3. Document everything: Keep records of all communications with the storage facility owner and staff, including dates, times, and what was discussed.

4. Consult with a lawyer: Consider seeking legal advice from a lawyer who specializes in landlord-tenant law. They can help you understand your rights and guide you through the legal process.

5. File a complaint: If you believe your rights have been violated, you can file a complaint with the Kentucky Attorney General's Office, Consumer Protection Division, or the Better Business Bureau.

6. Consider legal action: If the storage facility owner continues to violate your rights or wrongfully auctions off your belongings, you may need to pursue legal action to recover your property or seek damages.

Remember, in Kentucky, a storage facility must typically provide written notice and follow proper legal procedures before auctioning off a tenant's belongings or changing the terms of a rental agreement. Assert your rights and seek legal help if necessary to protect your property.
