A: What is your question? Typically, the court sets a Case Management Conference with the Complaint is filed. If there is no date set, you will probably need to consult with an attorney to find out why. However, the bigger question is what you hope to achieve by suing someone without insurance (I assume that is the other driver who was uninsured). How are you going to collect? Do you have uninsured motorist coverage?

A: If your court case in California is pending but no date has been set, it's crucial to stay informed and prepared. Typically, this means the court has not yet scheduled a hearing or trial date. This situation can be due to various reasons, such as court backlogs or delays in completing required pretrial steps.

You should regularly check with your attorney or the court clerk to see if a date has been determined. Staying in close communication with your legal representative is essential for staying updated and understanding the next steps. Ensure that all your documents and evidence are organized and ready for when a date is set.

Additionally, you can utilize this time to review your case thoroughly and prepare your arguments. It might also be beneficial to discuss potential settlement options or alternative dispute resolution methods like mediation with your attorney. Patience and diligence are key in navigating the legal process, especially when dealing with delays.
