Q: If I have 2 current pending cases in separate counties and I hire a paid lawyer should he represent me for both case?
A: If you’re asking, is he REQUIRED to represent you in the other county because you paid him for one county then the answer of course would be no (unless he agreed to that arrangement or you have a contract to that effect). If you’re asking, is it WISE to hire the same attorney for two different cases in different counties, then that’s a completely different question. Some attorneys are better acquainted with the judges and prosecutors in certain counties than others, so that could be an important factor to consider. Then again, many times it’s beneficial to try and work out a universal plea bargain that involves both counties and that sometimes process easier to accomplish with one single attorney handling both cases and counties. Discuss that with your attorney, listen carefully to their answer, and make your own decision. Best of luck!
