Q: Why won't the police do anything when someone takes your items without compensation?

Left items at toy store for appraisal, after a balljoint failed ruck totalled almost life lined. Kept in touch full time with Google, or Bay. But soon as got my feet back on ground and was ready pick up my legally owning items. for two totes toys from 1980-1999 and 73 HOTWHEELS was $40 so declined an explained the situation. But I message and was ready go pick up items and they read message but no reply, tried call next day vm full..waited week see if they contact me back and nothing so tried them again. They could remember me but said I abandoned the items and had no right to them anymore after 90days they become their property. Yet was never abandon all contact was recorded as well as complaint to bbb. Yet cops won't do a thing yet it's theft and 500-1000s worth. The captain plant and Star wars Lego sells for 930$ that was 2 outta 2 full packed totes why won't cops do a thing. I know have legal action yet am disabled from anxiety and hernia mesh so makes hard to file a suit being
