Athol, MA asked in Libel & Slander and Employment Law for Massachusetts

Q: I feel like my boss is retaliating against me and if he’s not I still feel my OSHA right we’re violated what to do?

I have missed some work this year due to medical reasons And most recently today I have taken off with a doctors note provided to me for today, however my girlfriend also works in the same place and she could overhear my boss talking loudly about how I’m always absent and he feels like he can’t do anything about it regardless doesn’t this violate OSHA speaking about an employees absences loudly where everyone can hear it? It’s an office with around 20 people and my girlfriend who over heard it is on the far side so that means all 20 people heard it.

Prior to this

he wrote me up, as my employer has started a new policy that you can’t go over 5 days absent in a year. However provided a doctors note is included they can’t be held against you. So he had to tear up the write up after I disputed his actions
