Clermont, FL asked in Small Claims for Puerto Rico

Q: How do I sue an company that didn't fully comply with their contractual agreement for my destination wedding?

I had a destination wedding in Aguadilla PR in Mar 2023 and I live in FL. It was at a mansion that does full service weddings. Three weeks prior to the wedding I was told that due to a current legal issue I was not going to be able to have my wedding party outdoors. The owner, which I then later found out was a convicted criminal, told me that the neighbors were taking him to court over noise and that it was being resolved in their favor. We agreed for the inconvenience he would allow us to arrive and stay one day extra at the mansion. When we got there it was full of workers painting and doing work around the property. We weren't able to enjoy the property at all. Also part of the contract was a 16 person catamaran trip which was scheduled the day after my wedding in at 4pm. The day of the trip he texts me at 10am saying the trip was cancelled due to the boat being inoperable. This was a $2000 excursion and we spent $3500 a day for the property.
