New Rochelle, NY asked in Medical Malpractice for New York

Q: I have epilepsy, successfully managed for 1.5 years on a ketogenic diet, and no drugs. MDs don't like this.

They pressure me to take drugs, and now some are resorting to coercive behaviors, such as putting false, exaggerated diagnoses in my medical record (and sharing it with large area institutions w/o permission), and threatening that I won't be able to renew my driver's license. In the absence of any “million-dollar” injury claims (so far!), how do protect myself from the defamation of false diagnoses (and future consequences of having that in my medical record), and the pressure to take unneeded and harmful drugs? How do I hold these MDs accountable *before* they do any significant damage?
