Hudson, MA asked in Employment Law and Nursing Home Abuse for Massachusetts

Q: Hello, I´m a nurse who lost his job due to a false accusation

I use to work in a catholic nursing home who only house priest. One of them accused me of "beating him down" even though I only interact with him when I pass medication. He has advanced Parkinsosn´s and this is not the first time he is accusatory. I was placed under an internal investigation for a week, then I was questioned by the police and yesterday I was called to talk with my employers about the results of their findings. In the meeting they told me that based on their investigation and the one done by the police, they can´t find culpability but because the priest continues to think I was the person who abused him, they want to part ways; they wrote me a check for the week I was investigated and added probably 2 weeks worth of my salary, a total of 5000 and gave me that to go away.

I told them I was going to talk with alawyer and did not accepted the offer, I feel that my job was taken away without any proof I was the abuser.

What can I do? should I just walk away?
