Q: Should my staffing agency pay me for the 30 days during my onboarding and waiting for the project to start?
I have a contract that has a 3/25/24 start date and ends a year from now. I have been assigned to a project that everyday we are told it will start tomorrow. However, the contract didn’t actually get signed with the final consumer until 4/15/24. I was under the impression that we would be paid for onboarding and training that now has been significantly reduced to 2 hours. This has caused financial hardship to my household. Are there minimum hours the staffing agency should pay for my exclusivity? Especially since I was not able to work for another company that was in the same industry due to my contract restriction.
