Q: I was convicted of Possession of Drugs as a Misdemeanor 1 in the State of Ohio, would I report this to background?
I am filling out a background check and there is a section stating "Ohio: Do not report any conviction for a misdemeanor drug violation as defined under Ohio Rev. Code 2925.11." The charge in question was a result of possession of benzodiazepines, and resulted in an M1 conviction. I believe this section only refers to minor misdemeanor charges, however my court documents show Section #: 2925.11AC2, but I am not able to find specific verbiage. I also received a charge a few years later for Illegal use or Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (Specifically multiple items for smoking marijuana flower and concentrates) under Section #: 2925.141. Would I need to report either of these for the background check?
