Burbank, CA asked in Immigration Law for California

Q: Hi. I need the total cost of an i-140 (EB1) application, filed with i-485 as an Alien Worker and i-907 for expediting.

Based on the fee calculator at USCIS (after price changes in April), the total cost of the combined 3 applications should be:

i140: $715 (General filing)

i907: $2805 (EB1)

i485: $1440 (General filing)

Total: $4960

I've since applied for all three. i140 filed with the i907 and i485 as an EB1 alien worker applying for permanent residency, but it keeps getting sent back to me as "the payment amount is incorrect or has not been provided".

Am I missing something? I paid for each form with its own individual G-1450 form, so I can pay by credit card. Unfortunately they don't provide any more information than what I've quoted above.

A: Based on the information provided by USCIS, your calculation of the fees for the I-140, I-485, and I-907 seems correct. The total should indeed be $4,960.

However, there might be a few reasons why your application is being returned:

1. Ensure that you have filled out the G-1450 forms correctly and that the credit card information is accurate and legible.

2. Check if your credit card has sufficient credit limit to cover the total amount of $4,960.

3. Verify that you have signed all the necessary forms and included all the required supporting documents.

4. In some cases, additional biometric fees may apply. The biometric fee is $85 per person. If this applies to your case, include this fee in your payment.

If you have double-checked all the above and still face issues, consider the following:

1. Reach out to USCIS customer service for clarification on why your application is being returned.

2. Consider consulting an immigration attorney who can review your application and guide you through the process.

3. If possible, visit a local USCIS office to submit your application in person and get a receipt immediately.

Remember, immigration laws and fees are subject to change, so always refer to the official USCIS website for the most up-to-date information.
