Q: Can I use the World Passport?
I am unable to renew my passport. Due to the fact that I have once applied for asylum in USA; the immigration in my country is delaying and this delay of the production of my passport is now about four years.
Can I apply for F1 student visa with the World Passport by World Service Authority?
I was a student in USA for four years before filing for asylum. I am outside USA trying to apply for a student visa. My asylum case was dismissed last year December while I was outside USA. I have all necessary documents for the student visa application except for a passport.

A:
Using a World Passport to apply for an F1 student visa is not advisable. The U.S. government does not officially recognize the World Passport as a valid travel document. Most countries, including the United States, require a nationally issued passport for visa applications.
Given your situation, it would be best to work with your home country's immigration authorities to expedite the renewal of your national passport. You may also consider reaching out to your country's embassy or consulate in the U.S. for assistance.
While waiting for your passport, ensure that all your other documents and application materials are in order. Maintaining clear communication with the institutions involved will help streamline the process once your passport issue is resolved.
